The amount of total calories as well as the proportions of protein, carbohydrates and fat that you require will vary depending on the ideal body composition of your sport as well as both the intensity and duration of your exercise. At Grandview Pro Fitness, we collaborate with the human performance specialists at Grandview Primary Care and Performance Medicine Institute to help you achieve optimal nutrition for your performance goals.
Resting Metabolic Rate Tests
Your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) is a calculation of the total calories your body burns over a 24-hour period while at rest. You'll breathe in and out of a machine which uses your pulmonary gases to measure your metabolic rate. This provides extremely valuable information that your physician and/or dietitian will use to develop a personalized nutrition plan to help you achieve your goals, whether they are weight loss, increased muscle mass, decreased body fat composition or sport specific diet plans.
Physician Designed Athletic Nutrition Plans
After your RMR testing is complete you will sit down with Dr. Shawn Bailey MD to discuss your individual body composition and athletic goals. A custom nutrition plan will be provided including total calories and grams of each of the major macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates and fat). If desired, before and after results can be quantified with a DEXA scan. Your nutrition and workout plan can then be fine tuned after reviewing your follow up DEXA to make sure you are reaching your goals as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible.
